As we stand on the brink of another Nintendo console launch, we eagerly look for the games that will make this console great. But, so far, the view at the starting line leaves us wanting more… much more.
Perhaps the biggest hype and most anticipated game for launch day is Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This game is releasing on both the Wii U and Nintendo Switch. Those who have the money to spare and high hopes for Nintendo’s future games will be purchasing it on launch day for Nintendo Switch. There is the option of three different price points if you are willing to pay for all the collectible extras. Personally, I hope this installment of LOZ is as gorgeous and expansive as it is made out to be. It’s going to take some time to build up the other titles for the system, and I’m going to need something amazing to play while I wait.

Coming out in March 2017 we have a few more games*:
- Shovel Knight: Spector of Torment – $9.99
- SnipperClips: Cut it out, together – $19.99
- Has Been Heroes – TBD
Basically, what we have to look forward to on launch day are three original games (LOZ, 1-2-Switch, and Bomberman R) and either ports of previous games or games that are already available on competitor consoles (and possibly at a lower price). Hopefully the three other games slated for a March release will be out soon, because they all appear to be solid eShop games at a price that won’t break the budget.
There is a light on the horizon however, and it’s third-party support promised for Nintendo. Here’s a sample of those signed up to start production for Nintendo Switch.
